Hey People!
Sorry I haven’t posted any pics lately! I’m still on the road tramping my way around Spain (currently San Sebastian). I have taken a stack of shots but I don’t have the means to process or post them, see pervious post.
So far I have taken about 4,500 shots with a little video but dont worry I won’t be spamming you with them all when I get back to Sydney. Instead I want to get back into a more consistent rythm and try to post a few stills daily (beach and street).
Anyways,

80 Gigs & Counting
So for anyone that cares I am currently in Germany on a holiday which is part of a 3 country wurl wind tour for about 6 weeks, hence the lack of photo’s. Sorry. The theory was to travel light and not lug all my useual cumbersome gear around. All I ended up taking was the 3 primes (35mm, 50mm and 85mm) in a lowepro slingshot. So far the primes have been great and I dont miss carrying those heavy zoom’s. I do miss the focal length of the 200mm but the 85 more then makes up for it. My main issue so far is that im am completely running out of space! I made the executive decision not to bring the mac pro as we are backpacking and it was another 2kgs instead I am relying on a 500Gb WD harddrive to fit everything.
The problems I am coming across are as follows:
- I seem to never be near a computer that can handle the transfer of RAW files let alone load in a time that isnt minutes.
- The guys in the photoshop in the city laughed when I asked if they could handle RAW
- People look at me confused and suspiciouse when I ask if they have anything faster then USB 2.0
- Alot of people in Europe (to be fare Germany) find it hard to belive that your proffession can be something as novel as taking photo’s
